Education, Training and Employment Coordinator – Suffolk YJS

Location: Suffolk Youth Justice Service, West Suffolk House, Bury St Edmunds, IP33 3YU – Hybrid

Salary: £32,076.00 – £38,223.00

Position Type: Full Time

Contract Type: Temporary (12 Month Fixed Term Contract)

Your role and responsibilities 
You will:
– be part of a multi-disciplinary team that includes, Educational Psychologists, Social Workers, Police Officers, Practitioners, Probation Officers, Speech and Language Therapists, Substance Misuse Workers and Mental Health Professionals
– work with colleagues across Suffolk County Council to ensure that every child open to our service receives their full entitlement to education and has the opportunity to fulfil their unique potential
– utilise your communication skills to hear the voice of the child and ensure this is effectively communicated to colleagues and professionals working with the child and their family
– build relationships with local education providers and attend multi-agency meetings to improve and re-establish children’s engagement with education, employment and training. 
– You may also be required to work some weekends and evenings.
 
You will need:
– experience working with children and families within education and children’s services
– a positive ‘can do’ approach to working with families and partner agencies
– a willingness to learn and grow within the role, bringing transferable skills that will strengthen and improve the existing skills in the team
– a minimum of GSCE Maths and English or equivalent, alongside a relevant degree/level 6 qualification or equivalent experience.
