The Role: As Restorative Justice Team Leader, you will assist the Manager in the running of a 16+ semi-independent supported accommodation service, supporting the delivery of high quality transition services for young people that promote their independence and increase their life skills. We have an enthusiastic team including Support Workers, Waking Night Staff and Management who all have different interests which they bring to the service. Key aspects of the job will be: – To safeguard young people through collaborative working with external agencies and emergency services and compliance with local authority safeguarding procedures. – To work closely with the local authorities to reduce young people’s offending behaviour and support them to complete their court orders. – To ensure a trauma informed environment within the home at all times. – Applicants should have – At least two years’ relevant experience providing residential care, housing and/or support services to vulnerable individuals. – Knowledge of the welfare benefits system in relation to young people. – A good understanding of the regulatory framework relevant to the provision of residential care, supported accommodation or housing services for young people. – Knowledge of the issues pertaining to young people’s offending, including those relating to alcohol/drug dependency and mental health and complex needs. – Working knowledge and thorough understanding of the barriers and challenges that non-white young people face within the criminal justice system – The ability to cope effectively with challenging behaviour – Ability to lead, motivate, supervise and support staff and be a positive role model. – Good communication and team working skills. – Ability to commit to a shift pattern, which includes early morning, long day, late evening, lone working, Bank Holidays and weekends. – Hold a relevant qualification in Health and Social Care, (i.e. NVQ or Degree in Social Work, Probation or Youth Work etc).
