Biography – Samantha Starmer

Biography

Samantha started with Cumbria Youth Justice Service back in 2001 after completing a student placement – she was hooked! She held numerous roles in the team before becoming Head of Service in 2016. For her, it’s been so interesting to see how Youth Justice Services have evolved over the last 20 years and she’s excited to see what lies ahead. She’s particularly passionate about Trauma informed approaches, and introduced Enhanced Case management to Cumbria some years ago. It’s important to her that staff are allowed to be innovative and creative with our children and young people.
