Aspiring Future Leaders Programme
For many years the AYM has run, in partnership with Solace, a highly successful development programme for future leaders in Youth Justice. This is an endorsed ILM development programme at level 5. It consists of an introductory workshop and four two-day modules which take place at roughly six-week intervals. Currently the modules are delivered virtually.
Our current programme fees are –
- Members of AYM £1750.00
- Non-members of AYM £1925.00

(The optional ILM Level 5 Certificate in Leadership and Management accreditation can be undertaken for this programme – at an additional cost of £900 + VAT; this can be commissioned with Solace during the course)
The programme is aimed at managers in YOTs and is of particular interest to those who are contemplating making applications for more senior roles.
Our course leader is Averil Price who works for Solace as an Associate after a 31-year career in local government, 20 of those at Director-level.
There is no formal selection process, and we operate on a first-come-first-served basis, with the proviso that the application is supported by your head of service and funding is available.
Members of previous cohorts have indicated that they would be happy to speak to any colleague who wishes to find out more from them before applying for a place.
