Centring Victims in Youth Justice: What does good really look like?

We are pleased to be able to confirm the details of our 2025 Autumn Conference on:

Wednesday 15th October 2025 from 9.00am until 16.40pm

The conference is held in collaboration with The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) and NEC Digital. This years event is being held at:

Conference Aston, Aston Street, Birmingham, B4 7ET (Part of Aston University)

This year we have changed the format of our day slightly and we will be having a series for Keynote speakers and workshops which all guests will have the opportunity to take part in.

Our keynote speakers include;

  • Alex Davies-Jones MP, Minister for Victims and Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG);
  • Jacob Dunn (The Forgiveness Project) and;
  • Jim Simon from the Restorative Justice Council.

Our workshops will focus on;

  • Outputs from the new HMI Probation regime, focusing on the new victim requirements,
  • Creating a YJS Victim best practice award, exploring options in conversation with Victim Support,
  • How can AI further best practice with children and victims in Youth Justice with NEC Digital,
  • Establishing a young victims project - SAFE and the Young Victims project,
  • YEF introducing a new tool designed to support youth justice partnerships, to self-evaluate their out of court resolution work against the best available evidence and practitioner insights, effectively reducing offending and consequent victims.

In addition to the above discussions there will be formal presentations of our John Hawkins Award and YJ SEND Quality Mark Awards (delivered in partnership with Microlink PC).

A light lunch and refreshments will be provided at the venue.

Conference timings - 9am until 16.40pm.
