The AYM Autumn Conference 2024
Thank you to all who joined us for this year's conference held in collaboration with the Youth Endowment Fund. We are pleased so many of you could join us to discuss the future of Youth Justice.
Special thanks goes to Sir Nic Dakin MP (Minister for Youth Justice and Sentencing), Martin Jones CBE (Chief Inspector of HM Inspectorate of Probation) and Jon Yates (Executive Director of the Youth Endowment Fund) for taking the time to join us this year and for engaging us in conversation about what they think is next for Youth Justice.
We were able to have some of our partnership organisations provide stalls at this year's event which held a great deal of information about the work they do and how to get involved. Thank you to our stall holders for their time and for the information they brought to our discussions on the day too.
Our John Hawkins Award was won and collected by Coventry YJS this year for their 'Inspire day'. Congratulations to them. You can find more information about their entry and the other finalists in our slides (see link below).
We also welcomed Marius Frank (Co-Head of Education at Microlink PC) to give out this years YJ SEND awards to those who have received their accreditation.
As always our plenary guests and discussion did not disappoint. With lots of thoughts around Prevention, Diversion, Serious Violence, Child First approach and What the research out there is telling us so far.
There is always so much to fit into the day and we hope that we did not miss anything you would have liked to see. If you attended our conference please would you take 5 minutes to complete our quick survey, as feedback always helps us to improve our events. Click here for the questionnaire.
Finally we have a special thank you to Dr Stevie-Jade Hardy, Head of Change for Policing and Youth Justice at the Youth Endowment Fund. Stevie and her team helped us to organise the day and also created the brilliant programmes.
Our slides from the day can be viewed here. We have also added a few additional pages for our JH Award winners and for our stall holders information and where to find them.
We look forward to seeing you at the next one. In the meantime if you have any questions or further information please email us at adminsupport@aym.org.uk
