Mentoring is most often defined as “A professional relationship in which an experienced person (the mentor) assists another (the mentee) in developing specific skills and knowledge that will enhance the less-experienced person’s professional and personal growth.” A good mentor should help people to recognise their abilities and limitations, and help them seize opportunities and come to terms with the reality of their career potential.
Examples of Mentoring support; Service C has a newly appointed Head of Service looking for more guidance rather than goal support.
